MRSSL-SLIM Workshop for Marketers
MRSSL in partnership with Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) carried out a workshop for Sri Lankan Marketers. The workshop, held in April 2019, was the fourth consecutive time. The workshop titled ‘’Market Research in Dynamic Markets”, was developed with an objective to discuss changing demographics & psychographics of the Sri Lankan consumer, for better marketing of brands across sectors in Sri Lanka. Middle Management level employees from the Corporate Sector attended the workshop.
The workshop, with a line-up of leading Market Researchers in the country as speakers, was well received.
The speakers present were Ms. Himalee Madurasinghe, Former President of MRSSL and C.E.O. of Kantar LMRB and Kantar Insights Sri Lanka, Ms. Roshani Fernando, President of MRSSL and Partner/ Head – Quantum Consumer Solutions, Mr. Sharang Pant – Managing Director at Nielsen Sri Lanka, Mr. Neel De Silva, Chairman – SRL, Ms. Dilini Jayasuriya – Executive Director at Breakthrough Business Intelligence, Ms. Therica Miyanadeniya, Director – Consumer Insights at Nielsen Sri Lanka, Ms. Chamika Fernando – Business Director, Head of Kantar LMRB Household Panel and Mr. Neomal Marambe – Lead, Quantum Consumer Solutions.
The areas covered were vast and most informative to those in strategy and marketing positions in organizations. The topics covered were on – Role of market research in decision making, Trends in consumer behavior, An understanding of the demographic profile & consumption trends of the Sri Lankan consumer, The Psychographic profile of the Sri Lankan Household, Modern Trade landscape and The retail landscape.
Ms. Roshani Fernando, President of MRSSL, highlighted that the event was covered in cooperation with all the leading research agencies in the country in collaboration with SLIM. And mentioned, looking forward for successful continuation of workshops from MRSSL society in the future.
The workshop was carried out on 4th of April at Cinnamon Grand Colombo with nearly 45 professionals from Marketing & Sales, Media, Government sectors & academics eagerly attending the one-day workshop.
